Depends what kind of visit it is. Diagnosing a broken system is an $89 diagnostic, and it is waived the moment you book the repair with us. An estimate for a new system, a replacement, or a rebate consultation is free. Either way there is no travel charge, and you will know which one applies before we ever drive over.
A customer asked us exactly this while booking, and it is a fair question that too many companies answer vaguely on purpose. Here is the whole policy, in writing.
If something is broken, the visit is an $89 diagnostic. That covers a technician finding the actual problem, naming the failed part, and giving you a written flat price for the fix. Book the repair with us and the $89 disappears, waived, folded into nothing. You only ever pay it if you take the diagnosis and stop there, and even then you keep something real: a written diagnosis you can use to compare anyone else’s quote against.
If you are pricing a new system, the visit is free. Replacements, new installs, and rebate consultations cost nothing to quote. We come out, measure what your house actually needs, and put a real number in writing. No fee, no obligation, and the price will match our published ranges because those are the same numbers everyone gets.
There is no travel charge in either case. Bakersfield, Oildale, Delano, Tehachapi, anywhere in our service area, the drive is on us.
After hours, the visit costs the same plus a flat $120. A broken AC at 9pm is still the $89 diagnostic and the same published repair price, plus the flat after-hours adder. No double time, no emergency multiplier, no quote that mysteriously grows in the dark.
One honest note about “free service calls.” Some companies advertise free diagnostics on repairs. Nothing is free; a free visit has to get paid for somewhere, and it is usually inside the repair quote, where you cannot see it. We would rather charge $89 honestly, waive it when we do the work, and keep the repair price itself published where you can check it before we ever knock. If a free-service-call quote and ours ever land on your kitchen table together, compare the bottom lines, not the visit fees.
